The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: a ruler should honor the arrival of a sage by personally going out to receive him, showing reverence, humility, and proper conduct, thereby affirming the moral authority of spiritual wisdom over mere political power.
A sage arrives; King Bṛhadratha, pleased at the sight of his coming, goes out to meet him with his ministers and leading attendants, accompanied by his queen and son—depicting a formal royal reception of a revered guest.
