राजोवाच भगवन् राज्यमुत्सृज्य प्रस्थितो5हं तपोवनम् । कि वरेणाल्पभाग्यस्य कि राज्येनाप्रजस्य मे,राजाने कहा--भगवन्! मैं तो अब राज्य छोड़कर तपोवनकी ओर चल पड़ा हूँ। मुझ अभागे और संतानहीनको वर अथवा राज्यकी क्या आवश्यकता?
rājovāca bhagavan rājyam utsṛjya prasthito 'haṃ tapovanam | kiṃ vareṇālpabhāgyasya kiṃ rājyenāprajasya me ||
بادشاہ نے کہا—“اے بھگون! میں سلطنت چھوڑ کر تپسیاؤں کے جنگل کی طرف روانہ ہو چکا ہوں۔ مجھ کم نصیب اور بے اولاد کو ور سے کیا کام؟ اور بادشاہی سے بھی کیا فائدہ؟”
स उवाच मुनि राजा भगवन् नास्ति मे सुतः ।
