Arjuna’s evacuation of Dvārakā, Vasudeva’s rites, and the caravan’s crisis
पुन: पुनर्न मृष्पयामि विनाशममितौजसाम्,उन अमित तेजस्वी वीरोंके विनाशका दुःख मुझसे किसी तरह सहा नहीं जाता। मैं बार-बार उस दुःखसे व्यथित हो जाता हूँ। यशस्वी श्रीकृष्ण और यदुवंशियोंके परलोक- गमनकी बात सोचकर तो मुझे ऐसा जान पड़ता है, मानो समुद्र सूख गया, पर्वत हिलने लगे, आकाश फट पड़ा और अग्निके स्वभावमें शीतलता आ गयी। शार्ज्रधनुष धारण करनेवाले श्रीकृष्ण भी मृत्युके अधीन हुए होंगे--यह बात विश्वासके योग्य नहीं है। मैं इसे नहीं मानता
arjuna uvāca — punaḥ punaḥ na mṛṣyāmi vināśam amitaujāsām; ananta-tejasvināṃ vīrāṇāṃ vināśa-duḥkhaṃ me kathaṃcid api na sahyate. ahaṃ punaḥ punaḥ tena duḥkhena vyathito bhavāmi. yaśasvinaḥ śrīkṛṣṇasya yaduvaṃśyānāṃ ca paraloka-gamanaṃ cintayitvā mamaivaṃ pratibhāti—yathā samudraḥ śuṣyeta, parvatāś caleyuḥ, ākāśaṃ vidīryeta, agneś ca svabhāve śītalatā syāt. śārṅga-dhanuṣaṃ dhārayan śrīkṛṣṇo 'pi mṛtyor vaśam āgata iti viśvāsārhaṃ na me; etad ahaṃ na manye.
ارجم نے کہا—بار بار میں اُن بے پایاں قوت والے سورماؤں کی ہلاکت برداشت نہیں کر پاتا۔ اُن درخشاں بہادروں کے زوال سے پیدا ہونے والا غم کسی طرح میرے لیے قابلِ برداشت نہیں؛ میں بار بار اسی رنج سے لرز اٹھتا ہوں۔ جب میں نامور شری کرشن اور یدو وَنش کے پرلوک گमन کا خیال کرتا ہوں تو یوں لگتا ہے گویا سمندر سوکھ گیا، پہاڑ کانپنے لگے، آسمان پھٹ گیا اور آگ کی فطرت میں بھی ٹھنڈک آ گئی۔ کہ شری کرشن—شارنگ دھنُش کے دھارک—بھی موت کے قبضے میں آ گئے ہوں، یہ بات مجھے قابلِ یقین نہیں لگتی؛ میں اسے قبول نہیں کرتا۔
