Shloka 38

गन्धतैलावसिक्ताभि: काउचनीभि: सहसत्रश: | दीपिकाभि: कृतोद्योतं पश्यते वै वृषं तदा,उस समय सुगन्धित तेलसे भरे हुए सहस्रों सोनेके दीपक जलाकर प्रकाश किया गया था। उसी उजालेमें वे धर्मात्मा कर्णको देख रहे थे

gandhatailāvasiktābhiḥ kāñcanībhiḥ sahasraśaḥ | dīpikābhiḥ kṛtodyotaṃ paśyate vai vṛṣaṃ tadā ||

اس وقت خوشبودار تیل سے بھرے ہزاروں سنہری چراغ روشن کیے گئے اور جگہ جگمگا اٹھی؛ اسی روشنی میں وہ وِرش (کرن) کو دیکھ رہے تھے۔
