बभूव युद्ध कुरुपाण्डवानां यथा सुराणामसुरै: सहाभवत् | तथा प्रवृत्ते तुमुले सुदारुणे धनंजयस्याधिरयथेश्ष॒ सायकै:
babhūva yuddhaṁ kurupāṇḍavānāṁ yathā surāṇām asuraiḥ saha abhavat | tathā pravṛtte tumule sudāruṇe dhanañjayasya adhirathaiś ca sāyakaiḥ ||
سنجے نے کہا—کوروؤں اور پانڈوؤں کی جنگ ویسی ہی ہو گئی جیسے قدیم زمانے میں دیوتاؤں اور اسوروں کی جنگ۔ اس ہولناک اور شور انگیز معرکے میں دھننجے (ارجن) اور ادھیرتھ (کرن) تیروں کی بوچھاڑ سے ایک دوسرے پر ٹوٹ پڑے، گویا شجاعت اور عزم کی کسوٹی پر فتح کا فیصلہ ہونا ہو۔
