Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of steadfast courage and excellence in battle, while also implying an ethical tension: extraordinary power can serve glory, but in a war of kin it also intensifies destruction—inviting reflection on duty and consequence.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Karna (Rādheya), famed as a ‘crusher of enemies,’ once again displayed an astonishing act of battlefield prowess amid the ongoing conflict.
