Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
विपन्नसस्येव मही रुधिरेण समुक्षिता
vipannasasy eva mahī rudhireṇa samukṣitā
سنجے نے کہا—زمین خون سے یوں تر ہو گئی تھی جیسے ناکام فصل والا کھیت بھیگ کر بوجھل ہو جائے۔
संजय उवाच
The simile suggests that war’s ‘harvest’ is barren: immense effort results not in prosperity but in moral and human loss. Blood-soaked earth becomes a symbol of squandered dharma and the futility of violence as a means to lasting good.
Sañjaya is describing the battlefield aftermath: the ground is saturated with the blood of fallen warriors, conveying the scale of slaughter and the grim transformation of the land into a witness of destruction.
