Droṇānīka-praveśa: Arjuna’s respectful appeal to Droṇa and renewed advance toward Jayadratha (द्रोणानीकप्रवेशः)
vipreṣu dadataś caiva śraddhā bhavatu nityaśaḥ | ananyāsu savarṇāsu putrajanma ca me bhavet |
The verse emphasizes steadfast śraddhā in dāna—especially giving to learned Brahmins—as a sustained ethical-religious practice, and it links household aspirations (offspring) to socially sanctioned, dharma-framed marital conduct.
Nārada voices (or reports) a boon-like wish: that the speaker’s daily faith in charitable giving remain constant, and that he obtain sons through wives of his own varṇa—placing personal prosperity and lineage within a dharmic program of disciplined living.
