नारायणास्त्र-शमनं द्रौणि-प्रहारश्च

सुजिह्दां प्रेक्षमाणी च राजन्‌ विवृतलोचनौ । क्रोधसंरक्तनयनौ निर्दहन्तौ परस्परम्‌,राजन! वे अत्यन्त कुटिलभावसे परस्पर आँखें फाड़-फाड़कर देख रहे थे और क्रोधसे लाल नेत्र करके एक-दूसरेको ऐसे देखते थे, मानो भस्म कर देंगे

sañjaya uvāca | sujihvāṃ prekṣamāṇī ca rājan vivṛtalocanau | krodhasaṃraktanayanau nirdahantau parasparam ||

سنجے نے کہا—اے راجن! وہ دونوں آنکھیں پھاڑ کر، غضب سے سرخ نگاہوں کے ساتھ، ایک دوسرے کو یوں گھور رہے تھے گویا باہم ایک دوسرے کو جلا کر راکھ کر دیں گے۔
