अन्तर्दधु: प्रभा: सर्वा दीपैस्तैरव भासिता: । महामनस्वी योद्धाओंके अस्त्रों, कवचों और मणियोंकी सारी प्रभा उन प्रदीपोंके प्रकाशसे तिरोहित हो गयी थी ।। तस्मिन् कोलाहले युद्धे वर्तमाने निशामुखे
sañjaya uvāca |
antardadhuḥ prabhāḥ sarvā dīpais tair avabhāsitāḥ |
mahāmanasvī yoddhānāṃ astrāṇāṃ kavacānāṃ ca maṇīnāṃ sā prabhā dīpānāṃ prakāśena tirohitā babhūva ||
tasmin kolāhale yuddhe vartamāne niśāmukhe ||
ان چراغوں کی روشنی میں ساری چمکیں گویا دب گئیں۔ عظیم النفس جنگجوؤں کے ہتھیاروں، زرہوں اور جواہرات کی جو آب و تاب تھی، وہ انہی چراغوں کے نور میں اوجھل ہو گئی۔ اور اس ہنگامہ خیز جنگ کے جاری رہتے ہوئے، رات کا آغاز ہی ہو رہا تھا۔
