The Duel of Abhimanyu and Alambusa
with Arjuna’s approach to Bhīṣma
samabhyadhāvan krośanto rājānaṃ jātasambhramāḥ |

The verse highlights the kṣatriya ethic in wartime: when duty calls, warriors must act decisively with courage and resolve. The shouting and rushing symbolize not mere aggression but the public assertion of valor and responsibility in a dharmic contest of arms.
In the thick of battle, warriors—excited and calling out—surge toward the king (Duryodhana). Simultaneously, Abhimanyu and other Pāṇḍava great chariot-fighters charge at high speed, openly challenging Duryodhana and closing in on him.
