ततस्ते तावका: सर्वे मायया विमुखीकृता:
tatas te tāvakāḥ sarve māyayā vimukhīkṛtāḥ |
سنجے نے کہا: پھر اُس مایا کے اثر سے گھبرا کر اور حواس باختہ ہو کر تمہارے سب سپاہی جنگ سے منہ موڑ گئے۔ دہشت میں انہیں یوں دکھائی دیا کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو، اور درون، دُریودھن، شلیہ اور اشوتھاما کو بھی، اسی ہولناک حالت میں دیکھ رہے ہیں—کٹ پھٹ کر زمین پر گرے ہوئے، تڑپتے ہوئے، خون میں لتھڑے اور نہایت قابلِ رحم انجام کو پہنچے ہوئے۔ کوروؤں کے جو سرکردہ مہادھنوردھر تھے اُن میں سے اکثر رتھیوں کی حیثیت سے گویا تباہ ہو گئے؛ راجے گر پڑے، اور ہزاروں گھوڑے اور سوار ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو کر پڑے تھے۔
