कूजतां क्रन्दतां चैव स्तनतां चैव भारत । अनिशं शुश्रुवे शब्द: क्षुत्क्लिष्टानां नूगामिव,भरतनन्दन! भूखसे पीड़ित मनुष्योंकी भाँति कूजते, क्रन्दन करते और गरजते हुए योद्धाओंका शब्द निरन्तर सुनायी देता था
kūjatāṁ krandatāṁ caiva stanatāṁ caiva bhārata | aniśaṁ śuśruve śabdaḥ kṣut-kliṣṭānāṁ nūgām iva ||
اے بھارت! چہچہاتے، بین کرتے اور گرجتے ہوئے جنگجوؤں کا وہ ہنگامہ لگاتار سنائی دیتا تھا—گویا بھوک سے ستائے ہوئے لوگوں کے ہجوم کی مضطرب چیخ و پکار ہو۔
