उक्तमेतन्मया पूर्व द्रोणेन विदुरेण च । गान्धार्या च यशस्विन्या तत् त्वं तात न बुद्धवान्,“तात! मैंने, द्रोणाचार्यने, विदुरने तथा यशस्विनी गान्धारी देवीने भी पहले ही यह सब बात कह दी थी, परंतु तुमने इसपर ध्यान नहीं दिया
uktam etan mayā pūrvaṃ droṇena vidureṇa ca | gāndhāryā ca yaśasvinyā tat tvaṃ tāta na buddhavān ||
‘بیٹے! یہ بات پہلے ہی میں نے، درون آچاریہ نے، ودُر نے اور نامور گاندھاری دیوی نے بھی کہہ دی تھی؛ مگر تم نے اسے دانائی سے نہ اپنایا۔’
संजय उवाच
Repeated counsel from trustworthy elders and well-wishers should be received with buddhi (discernment) and acted upon; ignoring dharmic advice leads to avoidable suffering and moral failure.
Sanjaya reminds the listener (implicitly Dhritarashtra) that warnings and guidance had already been given by multiple respected figures—Sanjaya himself, Drona, Vidura, and Gandhari—yet the king did not heed them, setting the stage for the calamity of war.
