The passage links social well-being with inner contentment and reverence: a community is portrayed as prosperous and harmonious when its people are devoted (upāsakāḥ), strong, and mentally serene (prasannacittāḥ), suggesting an ethical ideal where prosperity is accompanied by piety and joy rather than arrogance or conflict.
Sanjaya continues a descriptive account of sacred/cosmic geography within Bhishma Parva, depicting a particular region of Jambudvipa: Garuda dwells there, and the local people are described as Yaksha-worshipping, wealthy, attractive, powerful, and cheerful.
