तद् युद्धमभवद् घोर देवानां दानवैरिव । जयमाकाडुक्षतां संख्ये यशश्व सुमहाद्भुतम्,उस युद्धमें विजय तथा अत्यन्त अद्भुत यशकी अभिलाषा रखनेवाले पाण्डवोंका कौरवोंके साथ उसी प्रकार भयंकर युद्ध हुआ, जैसे देवताओंका दानवोंके साथ हुआ था
tad yuddham abhavad ghoraṁ devānāṁ dānavair iva | jayam ākāṅkṣatāṁ saṅkhye yaśas ca sumahādbhutam ||
تب پانڈوؤں اور کورَووں کے درمیان ایسا ہولناک معرکہ برپا ہوا جیسے دیوتاؤں کا دانَووں سے جنگ ہو۔ اس رزم میں فتح اور نہایت عجیب و عظیم یَش کی آرزو رکھنے والے پانڈو دُھڑلے سے جا بھِڑے۔
