Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how extraordinary power and courage can appear ‘superhuman’ in war, yet it is still framed as karma (an act) within the moral world of the epic—inviting reflection on how heroic prowess serves duty while remaining ethically weighty because it occurs in battle.

Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that he and others witnessed an astonishing battlefield exploit performed by Bhīma, the great-souled Pāṇḍava, emphasizing the awe such martial action inspired among observers.
