The verse highlights the battlefield expression of kṣatriya-duty: steadfast courage and decisive engagement against hostile forces. Ethically, it frames martial action as purposeful and directed—heroes are recognized by their resolve and effectiveness in protecting their side’s cause.
Sañjaya reports that Dhṛṣṭadyumna notices Bhīma moving through the Kaliṅga ranks, actively operating within their formation. It is a snapshot of the battle’s intensity, emphasizing Bhīma’s dominance and Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s awareness of key movements on the field.
