महाव्यूह: कलिज्रानामेकेन मृदितस्त्वया । “आपने अकेले अपनी ही भुजाओंके बल और पराक्रमसे कलिंगोंके उस महान् व्यूहको रौंदकर मिट्टीमें मिला दिया
sañjaya uvāca | mahāvyūhaḥ kaliṅgānām ekena mṛditas tvayā |
“کلنگوں کی وہ عظیم صف بندی تم نے اکیلے ہی کچل کر پامال کر دی۔ اپنے ہی بازوؤں کی قوت اور شجاعت سے تم نے اس گھنے لشکری نظام کو—جو ہاتھیوں، گھوڑوں اور رتھوں سے بھرا ہوا تھا—توڑ کر خاک میں ملا دیا۔ اس کے بہت سے سپاہی دنیا کے نامور مردانِ کار میں شمار ہوتے تھے، اور بے شمار ثابت قدم، دلیر جنگجو اس عظیم صف میں پناہ لیے ہوئے تھے۔”
