Bhīṣma-nipāta-saṃvāda — Sañjaya’s Report of Bhīṣma’s Fall (भीष्मनिपातसंवादः)

आशंंसे5हं परं त्राणं भीष्माच्छान्तनुनन्दनात्‌ । मुझे शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मसे अपने पक्षके परित्राणकी बड़ी आशा थी। इस समय अपने पुत्रके शोकसे संतप्त होकर मैं महान्‌ दुःखसे चिन्तित हो उठा हूँ ।। ६१ हू ।। यदा55दित्यमिवापश्यत्‌ पतितं भुवि संजय

āśaṃse ’haṃ paraṃ trāṇaṃ bhīṣmāc chāntanunandanāt |

دھرتراشٹر نے کہا— میں نے اپنے فریق کی اعلیٰ ترین حفاظت کی امید شانتنو کے محبوب فرزند بھیشم ہی سے باندھ رکھی تھی۔ مگر اب بیٹے کے غم سے جلتا ہوا میں عظیم رنج اور فکر کے بوجھ تلے دب گیا ہوں۔
