निहत्य समरे राजन्‌ शतशो5थ सहसत्रश: । न तस्यासीदनिर्भिन्न गात्रे द्वयड्गुलमन्तरम्‌

Transliteration

nihātya samare rājan śataśo ’tha sahasraśaḥ | na tasyāsīd anirbhinnā gātre dvyaṅgulam antaram mahārāja ||

Translation

اے مہاراج! میدانِ جنگ میں سینکڑوں پھر ہزاروں سورماؤں کو قتل کرنے کے بعد بھیشم اس حال کو پہنچ گئے تھے کہ اُن کے جسم پر دو انگلی بھر جگہ بھی ایسی نہ رہی تھی جو تیروں سے چھِدی نہ ہو۔
