The verse underscores the awe-inspiring force of disciplined martial skill: Bhīṣma’s expertly crafted, sharp arrows dominate the battlefield so completely that their impact is described as making the very quarters resound—an image of how power, when fully unleashed in war, overwhelms all space around it.
Sañjaya describes Bhīṣma in the thick of the great Kurukṣetra battle, firing sharp, golden-feathered arrows. His onslaught is so intense that it seems to fill all directions and intermediate quarters with sound, indicating widespread strikes and battlefield dominance.
