संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how, in war, sheer martial prowess and momentum can temporarily overwhelm even righteous opponents; it invites reflection on the ethical tragedy of conflict where skill and force, not dharma, often decide immediate outcomes.
On the tenth day of the Kurukṣetra war, the enemy host is subjected to an intense barrage of sharp arrows—described as falling in hundreds and thousands—associated in context with Bhīṣma’s formidable onslaught, which the Pāṇḍavas cannot effectively stop.
