भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः

Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma

यदि भीष्मे हते वीरे जयं पश्यसि पाण्डव । हन्तास्म्येकरथेनाद्य कुरुवृद्धं पितामहम्‌,'पाण्डुनन्दन! यदि भीष्मके मारे जानेपर ही आपको अपनी विजय दिखायी दे रही है तो मैं एकमात्र रथकी सहायतासे आज कुरुकुलवृद्ध पितामह भीष्मको मार डालूँगा

sañjaya uvāca | yadi bhīṣme hate vīre jayaṃ paśyasi pāṇḍava | hantāsmy ekarathenādya kuruvṛddhaṃ pitāmaham ||

اے پاندو کے بیٹے! اگر تمہیں فتح تبھی نظر آتی ہے جب بہادر بھیشم مارا جائے، تو آج میں ایک ہی رتھ کے سہارے کوروؤں کے بوڑھے پِتامہ کو قتل کر دوں گا۔
