Multiple Defensive Engagements to Protect Bhīṣma
ततः प्रववृते युद्ध तुमुलं लोमहर्षणम् । पाण्डवानां कुरूणां च समरे विजयैषिणाम्,तत्पश्चात् युद्धमें विजयकी अभिलाषा रखनेवाले कौरवों तथा पाण्डवोंमें परस्पर घोर युद्ध हुआ, जो रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाला था
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṁ tumulaṁ lomaharṣaṇam | pāṇḍavānāṁ kurūṇāṁ ca samare vijayaiṣiṇām ||
اس کے بعد فتح کے خواہاں پانڈوؤں اور کُروؤں کے درمیان میدانِ جنگ میں نہایت ہنگامہ خیز اور رونگٹے کھڑے کر دینے والی ہولناک لڑائی چھڑ گئی۔
