This verse functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal teaching: it emphasizes orderly transmission of the epic by marking the completion of a chapter focused on Bhīma’s prowess within the morally complex setting of the Kurukṣetra war, reminding readers that heroic action is being recorded and evaluated within a dharma-laden narrative.
Sañjaya signals the end of the chapter (Adhyāya 106) in the Bhīṣma Parva, specifying that it belongs to the Bhīṣma-vadha section and that its subject is Bhīma’s mighty deeds; it is a structural closing line rather than an event-description.
