पाण्डव-वृष्णि-समागमः तथा अश्वमेध-अनुज्ञा | Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha
परिक्षिदिति नामास्य भवत्तित्यब्रवीत् तदा । “कुरुकुलके परिक्षीण हो जानेपर यह अभिमन्युका बालक उत्पन्न हुआ है। इसलिये इसका नाम परिक्षित् होना चाहिये।” ऐसा भगवानने कहा
parīkṣid iti nāmāsya bhavatt ity abravīt tadā |
وَیشَمپایَن نے کہا—اسی وقت بھگوان نے فرمایا: “اس کا نام ‘پریکشت’ ہو۔” جب کوروکُل گھٹ کر تقریباً مٹنے کے کنارے تھا، تب ابھیمنیو کا یہ بچہ پیدا ہوا؛ اس لیے اس کا نام ‘پریکشت’—یعنی وہ جو نسل کی حفاظت کرے اور اسے پھر سے قائم کرے—ہونا چاہیے۔
