विधिवद्‌ ब्राह्मणै: सिद्धेर्धर्मज्ैस्तत्त्वदर्शिभि:

vāyudeva uvāca | vidhivad brāhmaṇaiḥ siddhair dharmajñais tattvadarśibhiḥ spṛśo guṇā dvādaśa vidhā vāyoḥ vistaraḥ prakīrtitaḥ—rūkṣaḥ śītaḥ uṣṇaḥ snigdhaḥ viśadaḥ kaṭhinaḥ cikanaḥ ślakṣṇaḥ (laghuḥ) picchilaḥ kaṭhoraḥ komalaś ca |

وایو دیو نے کہا— قاعدے کے مطابق کامل، دھرم کے جاننے والے اور حقیقت کے بینا برہمنوں نے ہوا کی لمسی صفات کی پوری وسعت بیان کی ہے۔ یہ بارہ ہیں: خشک، سرد، گرم، چکنی، صاف/شفاف، سخت، ملائم چکنا، ہموار، لیس دار، درشت، کٹھور اور نرم۔
