अपन कराता बछ। रस: षटत्रिशो<ध्याय: ब्रह्माजीके द्वारा तमोगुणका
brahmovāca | tad avyaktam anudriktaṁ sarvavyāpi dhruvaṁ sthiram | navadvāraṁ puraṁ vidyāt triguṇaṁ pañcadhātukam |
برہما نے کہا—“وہ اَویَکت پرکرتی جو بےہیجان، ہمہ گیر، لازوال اور ثابت ہے، اسے بنیاد سمجھو۔ جب تینوں گُن توازن میں ہوں تو اسی کا نام ‘اَویَکت’ ہے۔ اور جب ان تین گُنوں میں عدمِ توازن پیدا ہو، تو وہ پانچ مہابھوتوں کی صورت اختیار کرتے ہیں؛ انہی سے ‘نو دروازوں والا شہر’—یہ جسم—پیدا ہوتا ہے، یوں جانو۔”

Creation and embodiment are explained through Sāṅkhya categories: the unmanifest Prakṛti remains stable in guṇa-equilibrium, but when the guṇas become imbalanced, the five elements arise and the embodied ‘nine-gated city’ (the body) is formed.
