इत्युक्त:ः स कुरुश्रेष्ठ गुरुणा गुरुवत्सल: । प्राउजलि: परिपप्रच्छ यत्तच्छूणु महामते,महाबुद्धिमान्‌ कुरुश्रेष्ठ अर्जुन! गुरुके द्वारा इस प्रकार कहे जानेपर उस गुरुके प्यारे शिष्यने हाथ जोड़कर जो कुछ पूछा, उसे सुनो

ity uktaḥ sa kuruśreṣṭha guruṇā guruvatsalaḥ | prāñjaliḥ paripapraccha yat tac chṛṇu mahāmate ||

جب استاد نے اس طرح فرمایا تو گرو سے محبت رکھنے والے کوروؤں کے سردار نے ادب سے ہاتھ جوڑ کر پھر سوال کیا۔ اے صاحبِ خردِ عظیم، سنو کہ اس نے کیا پوچھا۔
