वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of sauhṛdya—choosing cordiality and respectful conduct. It suggests that dharma can express itself as reconciliation and humane regard, even when relationships have been strained by rivalry and conflict.
The narrator states that the Pāṇḍavas, being pleased or favorably inclined, meet Karṇa and thereafter remain in a friendly disposition toward him, behaving with cordiality as the story proceeds.
