Educational Q&A

Even when one holds power or has suffered wrong, dharma may require humility and disciplined conduct—especially honoring elders and lawful authority. The Pāṇḍavas’ obedience to Dhṛtarāṣṭra models restraint, reconciliation, and ethical self-governance.

In the Āśramavāsika context, the narrative emphasizes the Pāṇḍavas’ settled, respectful behavior: the five brothers remain together and live under Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s direction, highlighting a post-war shift from conflict to duty and deference.
