Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Instruction on Administration, Punishment, and Daily Governance
somadattasya nṛpater bhūriśravas eva ca | bāhlīkasya ca rājarṣer droṇasya ca mahātmanaḥ ||
The verse functions as an ethical remembrance: it names eminent elders and a teacher, prompting reflection on how status, learning, and lineage still culminate in the same human vulnerability—especially visible after war—thereby encouraging humility and sober regard for dharma.
Vaiśampāyana continues a list-like recollection of notable figures connected with the Kuru conflict, mentioning Somadatta, Bhūriśravas, Bāhlīka, and Droṇa as part of the ongoing narration in the Āśramavāsika context.
