छत्रोपानहदानफलप्रशंसा — Praise of the Merit of Donating Umbrella and Footwear
यावदेतान् पुनः सुभ्रु क्षिपमीति जनाधिप । जनेश्वर! इस प्रकार बाण चलानेकी क्रीड़ा करते-करते ज्येष्ठ मासके सूर्य दिनके मध्यभागमें आ पहुँचे। विप्रवर जमदग्निने पुन: बाण छोड़कर रेणुकासे कहा--'सुभ्रु! विशाललोचने! जाओ, मेरे धनुषसे छूटे हुए इन बाणोंको ले आओ, जिससे मैं पुनः इन सबको धनुषपर रखकर छोड़ूँ'
yāvad etān punaḥ subhru kṣipamīti janādhipa | janeśvara! evaṁ prakāraṁ bāṇa-calane krīḍāṁ kurvatāṁ kurvatāṁ jyeṣṭha-māsasya sūryo dina-madhya-bhāge samupāgacchat | vipravaraḥ jamadagniḥ punaḥ bāṇān utsṛjya reṇukām uvāca— “subhru! viśāla-locane! gaccha, mama dhanuṣaḥ chūṭān etān bāṇān ānaya, yathāham punar etān sarvān dhanuṣi nidhāya utsṛjeyam” |
بھیشم نے کہا—اے راجَن، اے جَنادھِپ! یوں تیر اندازی کی اس کھیلی میں لگاتار مشغول رہتے رہتے جَیَیشٹھ کے مہینے میں سورج دوپہر کے عین وسط تک آ پہنچا۔ تب برہمنوں میں برتر جمَدگنی نے پھر ایک بار تیر چھوڑ کر رینوکا سے کہا—“اے سُبھرو، اے وسیع چشم! جاؤ، میرے کمان سے نکلے ہوئے یہ تیر لے آؤ، تاکہ میں انہیں پھر کمان پر رکھ کر دوبارہ چھوڑوں۔”
