जगदग्निरुवाच जाजमद्यजजाने5हं जिजाहीह जिजायिषि । जमदग्निरिति ख्यातस्ततो मां विद्धि शोभने
jagadagnir uvāca | jājām adyajajāne ’haṃ jijāhīha jijāyiṣi | jamadagnir iti khyātas tato māṃ viddhi śobhane ||
جمدگنی نے کہا— اے نیک بخت! آج میں دیوتاؤں کی آہونِیَہ یَجْن آگ سے پیدا ہوا ہوں۔ اس لیے مجھے ‘جمدگنی’ کے نام سے مشہور جان۔
विश्वामित्र उवाच

A figure named Jagadagni speaks and declares that he has been born from the gods’ sacrificial fire; on that basis he instructs the addressed woman (‘O fair one’) to recognize him by the renowned name Jamadagni.
