Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्
नैव लोभ॑ तदा चक्रुस्तत: स्वर्गमवाप्रुवन्,इस प्रकार उन महात्माओंने अत्यन्त भूखे होनेपर और बड़े-बड़े लोगोंके अनेक प्रकारके भोगोंद्वारा लालच देनेपर भी उस समय लोभ नहीं किया। इसीसे उन्हें स्वर्गलोककी प्राप्ति हुई
naiva lobhaṁ tadā cakrus tataḥ svargam avāpruvan
بھیشم نے کہا—اس وقت بھی انہوں نے لالچ کو جگہ نہ دی؛ اسی لیے انہوں نے سُوَرگ (جنت) حاصل کیا۔ نہایت بھوکے ہونے پر بھی، بڑے بڑے لوگوں نے طرح طرح کے لذائذ سے بہکایا، مگر وہ عظیم النفس خواہش کے تابع نہ ہوئے—اسی سبب وہ آسمانی مقام کے حق دار بنے۔
