Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
सा वल्विना वार्यमाणा देवैरपि सरिद्वरा । समुत्ससर्ज तं॑ गर्भ मेरौ गिरिवरे तदा,देवताओं तथा अग्निके मना करनेपर भी सरिताओंमें श्रेष्ठ गंगाने उस गर्भको गिरिराज मेरुके शिखरपर छोड़ दिया
sā valvinā vāryamāṇā devair api saridvarā | samutsasarja taṁ garbhaṁ merau girivare tadā ||
دیوتاؤں اور وَلْوِی کے روکنے پر بھی، ندیوں میں برتر گنگا نے اس حمل کو چھوڑ دیا اور اسی وقت اسے کوہِ مَیرو، جو پہاڑوں میں افضل ہے، کی چوٹی پر رکھ دیا۔
