Educational Q&A

The verse grounds dharma in a shared divine origin: gods and Brahmins alike arise from the same supreme progenitor, so reverence, humility, and recognition of cosmic hierarchy are ethically required.

Vasiṣṭha addresses a supreme Lord/primeval ancestor (pitāmaha), affirming that all beings present are His progeny and praising Him as the creator of both the devas and the Brahmin order.
