तद्‌ ब्रह्म॒चर्यस्य फलमृषीणामिह दृश्यते । मातापित्रो: पूजने यो धर्मस्तमपि मे शृणु,तपस्वी ब्राह्मणोंमें यह बात प्रत्यक्ष देखी जाती है; क्‍योंकि ब्रह्मचारीके आक्रमण करनेपर साक्षात्‌ इन्द्र भी डरते हैं। ब्रह्मचर्यका वह फल यहाँ ऋषियों में दृष्टिगोचर होता है। अब तुम माता-पिता आदिके पूजनसे जो धर्म होता है, उसके विषयमें भी मुझसे सुनो

tad brahmacaryasya phalam ṛṣīṇām iha dṛśyate | mātāpitrōḥ pūjane yo dharmas tam api me śṛṇu ||

بھیشم نے کہا—یہاں رشیوں میں برہماچریہ کا پھل صاف دکھائی دیتا ہے۔ اب ماں باپ کی پوجا و تعظیم سے جو دھرم پیدا ہوتا ہے، وہ بھی مجھ سے سنو۔
