Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)

स शत्रूणामुपरि च संतिष्ठति युधिष्ठिर । यान॑ चाश्वतरीयुक्त तस्य शुभ्र॑ं विशाम्पते,भीष्मजीने कहा--युधिष्ठिर! जो एकाग्रचित्त होकर ब्राह्मणोंके लिये जूते दान करता है, वह सब कण्टकोंको मसल डालता है और कठिन विपत्तिसे भी पार हो जाता है। इतना ही नहीं, वह शत्रुओंके ऊपर विराजमान होता है। प्रजानाथ! उसे जन्मान्तरमें खच्चरियोंसे जुता हुआ उज्ज्वल रथ प्राप्त होता है

sa śatrūṇām upari ca saṃtiṣṭhati yudhiṣṭhira | yānaṃ cāśvatarī-yuktaṃ tasya śubhraṃ viśāṃpate ||

بھیشم نے کہا—اے یُدھشٹھِر! وہ اپنے دشمنوں کے اوپر غالب ہو کر کھڑا رہتا ہے؛ اور اے عوام کے سردار، اگلے جنم میں اسے خچّروں سے جُتا ہوا روشن و تابناک رتھ نصیب ہوتا ہے۔
