Transliteration

hṛtaṃ kṛpaṇa-vittaṃ hi rāṣṭraṃ hanti nṛpa-śriyam | dadyāc ca mahato bhogān kṣudhyaṃ praṇudet satām ||

Translation

بھیشم نے کہا—بے کسوں کا مال چھین لینا سلطنت اور بادشاہ کی خوشحالی کو برباد کر دیتا ہے۔ اس لیے حاکم کو چاہیے کہ وہ غریبوں کی ملکیت نہ لے؛ بلکہ انہیں فراوانی کے اسباب دے اور نیک لوگوں کی بھوک کی تکلیف دور کرے۔
