भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma emphasizes dharmic giving and practical support: aiding those engaged in yajña and sustaining society through gifts of food, transport, shelter, and rest—forms of charity that directly uphold religious duty and human well-being.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction section, Bhīṣma continues advising Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma, listing concrete items that a righteous person (especially a king/householder) should provide as gifts or support—food, horse-equipped conveyances, houses, and beds—particularly to those performing sacrifices.
