ब्रवीमि सत्यमेतच्च यथाहं पाण्डुनन्दन । तेन सत्येन गच्छेयं लोकान् यत्र च शान्तनु:,पाण्डुनन्दन! मैं यह सच्ची बात कह रहा हूँ और चाहता हूँ कि इस सत्यके प्रभावसे मैं उन्हीं लोकोंमें जाऊँ जहाँ मेरे पिता शान्तनु गये हैं
bravīmi satyam etac ca yathāhaṃ pāṇḍunandana | tena satyena gaccheyaṃ lokān yatra ca śāntanuḥ ||
اے پاندو کے فرزند! میں یہ بات بعینہٖ سچ کہتا ہوں۔ اسی سچ کی قوت سے میں اُن جہانوں کو پہنچوں جہاں میرے والد شانتنو گئے ہیں۔
भीष्म उवाच
Truthfulness (satya) is presented as a potent moral force: speaking truth is not merely ethical conduct but a source of spiritual merit capable of guiding one toward auspicious realms.
Bhīṣma, addressing Yudhiṣṭhira, affirms the truth of what he is saying and expresses a wish that, by the merit of that truth, he may attain the same heavenly realms reached by his father Śāntanu.
