रमणीय: समुद्देशो गंगातीरमिदं शुभम्‌ | किंचित्कालं व्रतपरो निवत्स्यामीह पार्थिव,'पृथ्वीनाथ! यह गंगाका सुन्दर तट बड़ा ही रमणीय स्थान है। मैं कुछ कालतक व्रतपरायण होकर यहीं रहूँगा

bhīṣma uvāca | ramaṇīyaḥ samuddeśo gaṅgātīram idaṃ śubham | kiñcitkālaṃ vrataparo nivatsyāmīha pārthiva |

اے پارتھِو! گنگا کا یہ مبارک کنارہ نہایت دلکش ہے۔ میں کچھ مدت تک ورت میں ثابت قدم رہ کر یہیں قیام کروں گا۔
