Śulka, Kanyā, and Dauhitra-Riktha: Discourse on Bride-Price and Inheritance Rights (शुल्क-कन्या-दौहित्र-रिक्थविचारः)
तस्य चिन्तयतस्तात वहूव्यो दिननिशा ययु: । इदमासीन्मनसि स रुच्या रक्षणकारितम्,तात! इस प्रकार चिन्ता करते हुए उनके कई दिन और कई रातें बीत गयीं। तब गुरुपत्नी रुचिकी रक्षाके कारण उनके मनमें ऐसा विचार उठा--
tasya cintayatas tāta bahvyo dina-niśā yayuḥ | idam āsīn manasi sa rucyā rakṣaṇa-kāritam ||
اے عزیز! یوں سوچتے سوچتے اس کے بہت سے دن اور راتیں گزر گئیں۔ پھر روچی کی حفاظت کے ارادے سے اس کے دل میں ایک پختہ عزم پیدا ہوا۔
