शरणागतं ये रक्षन्ति भूतग्रामं चतुर्विधम्‌ | कि तस्य भरतश्रेष्ठ फलं भवति तत्त्वतः,भरतश्रेष्ठी अब यह बतानेकी कृपा कीजिये कि जो लोग शरणमें आए हुए अण्डज, पिण्डज, स्वेदत और उद्धिज्ज--इन चार प्रकारके प्राणियोंकी रक्षा करते हैं उनको वास्तवमें क्या फल मिलता है?

śaraṇāgataṃ ye rakṣanti bhūtagrāmaṃ caturvidham | kiṃ tasya bharataśreṣṭha phalaṃ bhavati tattvataḥ ||

یُدھشٹھِر نے کہا—اے بھرتوں میں افضل! جو لوگ پناہ مانگنے والے چار قسم کے جانداروں کی حفاظت کرتے ہیں، انہیں حقیقت میں کون سا اجر حاصل ہوتا ہے؟
