Educational Q&A

The verse is a colophon marking the close of a teaching unit: it frames the preceding instruction as part of dāna-dharma (the ethical discipline of giving) delivered through Indra’s dialogue, underscoring charity as a regulated duty within dharma rather than mere impulse.

The text signals the end of the chapter and the conclusion of the Indra–Mataḍrasa conversation within the Anuśāsana Parva’s dāna-dharma section, preparing the reader to move to the next chapter/topic.
