अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
वैश्वदेवं च ये मूढा विप्राय ब्रह्मचारिणे । ददते नेह राजेन्द्र ते लोकान् भुज्जतेडशुभान्
vaiśvadevaṃ ca ye mūḍhā viprāya brahmacāriṇe | dadate neha rājendra te lokān bhuñjate 'śubhān ||
بھیشم نے کہا—اے راجندر! جو نادان لوگ اس دنیا میں برہماچاری برہمن کو ویشودیو (وَیشْوَدیو) سے متعلق اناج/بھوجن نہیں دیتے، وہ نحوست بھرے عوالم کا بھوگ بھگتتے ہیں۔
भीष्म उवाच
Daily giving—especially the Vaiśvadeva share of food meant for others—must not be withheld from worthy recipients like a disciplined brahmacārin; neglecting such dharma results in adverse karmic outcomes and inauspicious post-mortem realms.
Bhishma, instructing King Yudhiṣṭhira in Anuśāsana Parva, warns about the consequences of failing to perform everyday duties of sharing food and hospitality, emphasizing that refusal to give the proper offering to a brahmacārin brahmin leads to suffering in unfavorable worlds.
