(Rudra-Stavarāja) — Exempla of Śiva’s Boons and the Hymn’s Phalaśruti
idaṃ puṇyaṃ pavitra ca sarvadā pāpanāśanam | yogadaṃ mokṣadaṃ caiva svargadaṃ toṣadaṃ tathā ||
The verse extols a particular dharmic instruction or practice as intrinsically purifying: it removes the moral and spiritual residue of wrongdoing and yields a graded set of fruits—inner discipline (yoga), ultimate freedom (mokṣa), heavenly well-being (svarga), and present-life contentment (toṣa).
Vāyu-deva is speaking in praise of the preceding or referenced teaching, emphasizing its sanctifying power and its benefits. The statement functions as an endorsement: the listener is encouraged to adopt the teaching because it transforms conduct and consciousness and leads to both worldly and transcendent good.
