सत्कर्ता कुरुवृद्धानां पितृभक्तो महाव्रत: । जामदग्न्येन रामेण य: पुरा न पराजित:
satkartā kuruvṛddhānāṁ pitṛbhakto mahāvrataḥ | jāmadagnyena rāmeṇa yaḥ purā na parājitaḥ ||
ویشَمپایَن نے کہا—“وہ کوروؤں کے بزرگوں کا پورا احترام کرنے والا، اسلاف کا وفادار اور عظیم ورتوں پر قائم تھا۔ قدیم زمانے میں جمدگنیہ رام (پرشورام) کے ہاتھوں بھی وہ مغلوب نہ ہوا تھا۔”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse praises an ideal of dharma grounded in reverence: honoring elders, maintaining devotion to one’s ancestors, and living by firm vows. Ethical stature is shown not only through strength but through disciplined conduct and respectful relationships.
Vaiśampāyana is describing a distinguished figure by listing virtues and past renown. As part of the praise, he notes that this person was once undefeated even by Paraśurāma (Rāma Jāmadagnya), underscoring exceptional prowess alongside exemplary character.
